Cans, cartons, and glasses, such as aluminum and steel, empty and rinse—food and beverage, empty and replace cap—bottles and jars, empty and rinse

Mail, newspapers, boxboard, and cardboard should all be flattened.

Plastics such as kitchen, laundry, and bath bottles and containers should all be empty and rinsed.

1. Leave your items loose 

When recycling at Walters Recycling, always remember to leave your items loose. This will allow them to pick up the items without having to worry about losing them.

2. Avoid using plastic bags

Walters Recycling has always refused to recycle plastic bags. As a result, they advise all of their customers to avoid and not use plastic bags when collecting their recycling items. 

This is because plastic bags can become entangled in the machine or cause issues when recycling other important items.

3. Separate your recyclables at all times

Always separate your recyclables at all times. Even if the items are recyclable, Walters will not accept them if they are joined together.

4. They must be cleaned

Your recycled items must be clean and free of contaminants to be recycled at Walters Recycling. This is done to ensure the safety of both parties.
