How to Make Money from Used Can Recycling

Can recycling is known as the process of recycling aluminum cans or any other can and turning them into new cans or new products different from cans. It is also a process that takes place at recycling centers across the country.

When I was still a kid, my elderly sister would order us to pick up all the cans immediately after any family occasion, and sometimes, other people would pick them up.

Then, I never understood why we were asked to pick up cans and what they intended to use them for.

I was irritated with the idea of picking them up immediately after any occasion.

But as I get older and gain more experience and knowledge about the recycling world, I realize why I was told to pick up cans when I was younger.

I came to realize that the cans I picked could also be used to make money. Well, it all depends on the amount of weight that would determine your payout.

And thus, this article entails the methods involved in making money through cans.

In this article, I will discuss with you the methods involved in making money from can recycling.

Recycling centers collect aluminum cans and other recyclable materials from people and businesses.

They then recycle the materials and turn them into new products.

The recycling process begins by sorting the cans and other recyclable materials. The recycling center will separate the aluminum cans from the other materials.

They will then clean the cans and remove the labels. The cans are then cut into small pieces and melted down. The molten aluminum is poured into molds to create new cans.

Can recycling is a process that helps reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfills.

When it comes to making money from can recycling, there are many ways involved.

How to Make Money from Used Can Recycling

1. Collect and take them to a recycling center

Just like my elderly sister, who asked me to pick up cans, you can also collect cans from different locations, such as stores, households, and more.

The collection process can also be done by either going through the trash to find cans that have been discarded or by asking people to save their cans for you.

You collect cans, take them to a recycling center, and receive a payout based on the weight of the cans.

However, there are a few things you need to know in order to make the most money from recycling cans when they are taken to a recycling center.

The first thing you need to know is which cans are the most valuable. Aluminum cans are the most valuable, followed by tin cans.

Steel cans are the least valuable, so you may want to discard them or save them for a lower payout.

The second thing you need to know is the weight of a can. This can vary depending on the size and thickness of the can, but on average, a can weighs about 0.2 pounds.

These two factors listed would determine your payout. Furthermore, most recycling centers have tools that can tell you how much your can weighs and how much it’s worth, so you won’t feel cheated.

2. Sell them to scrap dealers

Sometimes, if you are a person that loves buying things made with cans, for instance, drinks, you will have them at home if not disposed of.

However, if you feel that taking the cans to a recycling firm is stressful or can’t find one, you can decide to sell them to can scrap dealers.

While can scrap dealers are an easy way to sell your cans, it might also sound like cheating, as if the payout is low.

This is because sometimes most dealers don’t have the right equipment to weigh each can or the number of cans in the market.

So, if you intend to use the method, make sure to inquire about the weight of your cans as well as the fixed prices set by recycling organizations.

In conclusion, If you want to make money from can recycling, these are the ways involved: either you collect the cans and take them to a recycling firm, or sell them to a can scrap dealer.
